Project Empty Bloggers
See the word "promotion" or "sale" somewhere and we just tend to unleash our excitement by purchasing new stuff. Sometimes we just tend to buy things and keep them aside and even forget about them but sometimes if 'that' thing is lucky, we use it as well. At times, it comes into use daily while some gets used weekly or monthly or Never?
Does that sound relatebale to you?
I often end up having things that become unloved or forgotten. Beauty and skin care products, in my case, suffer the most. Also, clothes at many times but I don't ever ignore the food products because... oh who would? Haha, especially chocolates!
I am participating in the #projectemptybloggers that was initiated by BombShellDrawer and Stephaine.
The project aims to clear up or at least start using all these unloved and unused things before summer.
So, here goes my list of things I aim to start using from today, no tomorrow please. Let them have some more rest for one more day. Let them procrastinate for 24 more hours. Ha!
Island Fantasy by Britney Spears - This was a present from my sister-in-law and it got a very warm welcome by my makeup shelf three and a half months ago. As you can see, the box has still not been opened. Thanks to her. She gave me some other perfumes too which I have already started using since Day 1. I am planning to open this perfume, although I doubt it would finish in summer, but at least I can start using it.
Rimmel MAX Mascara - I love it! I have been using it and it is really really good, like really! Yass! This was also a present from my sister-in-law. I do use it but at times, I totally tend to forget about it as I always keep my make-up extremely minimal. Since it has been there from quite some time, I am thinking of using it regularly so she can give me another one on her next visit to the UK. Haha! No, I am not greedy. She is just too sweet and loves filling my cupboards with presents.
Pivone Sublime & Creme Precious by L'occitane - These are actually sample pots I got from their boutique. I got vouchers for these and if you buy a full sized pot, it will be costly, so I thought it is always better to try things out before buying the full version. These are still sealed, but I think I can finish them in a few months. BUT. If I start using them now. Ho ho ho, like Santa!
Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation - I was very amused when I got a voucher to get this so I happily went to Debenhams to collect my pack. It also came with a brush, that I Love! However, the powdery foundation is just not for me. It makes me sneeze every time I apply it, plus it makes my complexion look dark. Maybe, this shade is just not meant for me. This has been hardly used, just twice, to be very precise, and I am not planning to use it any further. Will give it to anyone who wants it. I am so generous, see? Ha! But not giving the brush away, since I really like it.
Black Amethyst from Bath & Body Works - Got this from Dubai during Dubai Summer Surprises and I love it. It smells oh-so-um and I have used most of it. I would say just 20% of it is left. I had stopped using it for I don't know what reasons but I want to finish it so I can buy a new one and also use this container to keep my rings!
Lipsticks: NYC & Rimmel - These were also presents, and a some more lipsticks too. I have already started using the others but these are still sealed. I really like the colours but I still need to try them on myself. I think I will unseal them this week and start using them. The colours seem to be very nice for summers.
Eye Crayons by Seventeen - Bought these on the Boxing Day from Boots in UK. I thought they were being sold at a good price and they would be quicker to apply. Just used one, not more than twice I guess. I like these, but I think they are a bit too oily and the colour just spreads all over the eye lid. Maybe I am doing it wrong. Do you know the best way to apply it? Please HELP!
Body Butter: The Body Shop - Presents, again! Yes, from my sister-in-law. These are just a couple of months old and I haven't used them yet. I love how they smell, especially of the one on the left. I don't know why but I just have this thing for vanilla. Just love how it smells. The size is really good for a person like me, so I guess I can finish them up.
Well, these are JUST my predictions! I will show you the result in a few months time.

Do you also tend to buy things, keep them and forget about them? Can you name any of those things you think are resting in your closet, unused or those that have not been used since long? _____________________________________________

I have the same problem! Every time I see the word SALE I buy so much stuff that I never use... So this project is something I'm definitely going to try! Great idea (:
ReplyDeleteDo let me know how it goes. Would love to hear from you.
DeleteKate Moss by Rimmel lipsticks are my favourite! I will always repurchase that brand <3
ReplyDeleteAh! This is going to be the first time I will use Kate Moss lipstick though I own other products by Rimmel already.
DeleteI have so many things that I've not used, especially things like body butters. I should try something like this to try and use up my unused products!
ReplyDeleteYes, join me!
DeleteI'm using the Remel lipstick
ReplyDeleteIt's the best. Been using it for 3yrs now
Which shade are you using?
Deletegreat empties you have there. Love the bare minerals foundation , and the body butters (im addicted to body butters_)
ReplyDeleteI love body butters too! Which one is your favourite?
DeleteLol, I don't have any makeup but I think I can apply #projectemptybloggers to other sales, I have a ton of books I haven't read yet might start now.
ReplyDeleteThat would be loveley :)
DeleteYes yes. You should definitely start reading then. :D
Deletethese are lovely products. My wife would like for me to buy them but I'm like, not this time.
ReplyDeleteHaha :-) I think so many times before buying. As you can see, most of these are either presents or free products.
DeleteI do that all the time! Then when I find them I can't remember when I got them! But sometimes they save me in a emergency! You get great presents!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely right. It is such a hassale finding a present on time. I am never able to find the right thing at a good price. Having these in hand definitely saves me.
DeleteI definitely don't have any make up that would apply but plenty of kids stuff! I cannot walk past a kids sale and my girls have had clothes that they have outgrown before they even get to wear them!
ReplyDeleteKids outgrow so quickly. Even I have boxes filled of older clothes of BabyN'
Deleteyou should've used mineral make up! it is good to your skin! my classmate always looks fab thanks to it! what number Rimmel Kate lipstick? I stopped using Rimmel mascaras! and now I think I will stop using Maybelines! they smudge and make my lashes spidery! when I was working in The Body Shop, I used to buy too many body butters because we have offers on them! now I know where people put them! Lol.. I think ,y comment is more like ranting haha! but Thank you for taking a part in this project .Don't forget to link up your post to the linkies I create for this project XX
ReplyDeleteI always sneeze because of its powdery nature and it makes me look tan. Don't remember the number of the lipstick but I can tell that to you on Twitter.
DeleteI feel my Rimmel mascara is great. I will try to link it up. Thanks hun.
First you need to teach me how to take photos like that and secondly I like the idea of project empty because I am guilty of this too oops!
ReplyDeleteHey hi! I took these photos in such a hurry because I wanted to get done before BabtN' woke up. I took these on a bright sunny day with my Nikon SLR. :-)
DeleteGlad you liked them.
I really hope you will enjoy using up these products. It's a shame that we put things on the backburner or just away on a shelve and forget about them.
ReplyDeleteSo true!
DeleteLovely idea! I tried several times to arrange things and see unused things but after I did that, I tend to replace them with new ones. It ended as unending emptying. lol. But yeah, this is a challenge and definitely worth to participate.
ReplyDeleteHaha :-)
DeleteWish me luck :D
I am a collector of things. I end up giving them away as it ends up creating clutter. Okay- the end of this week, i will go through all my goodies and make a mental note to start using them if not give it away:)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! Please do that :-)
DeleteI used to always buy things and only use them a couple of times, but I always make sure I use everything I have these days, trying to keep my hope minimalistic and uncluttered .... trying.... haha
ReplyDeleteHaha :-)
DeleteNope! We have always been super broke though, so when we buy its a real treat. Your very lucky to have a sister in law who loves to spoil you so much! Good luck with your challenge.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-)
DeleteI usually try to only buy what I will use, but I do sometimes buy things because of a cute package lol. I need to stop doing that!
ReplyDeleteWe all need to stop doing that. :P
DeleteThis is such an interesting project and useful too. You've got some amazing products that you were not using. I rarely buy anything just out of lust or greediness. OOver the period of time, i have become a very sensible shopper.

These are mostly presents or free products. I myself don't buy anything excessively.
DeleteOne of my favorite words.. SALE.. I can't contain myself when I see that on stores specially on brands that I love.. So there goes my money... LOL
ReplyDeleteHaha - I have controlled myself A LOT!
DeleteI have actually also impulsed bought a lot of cosmetics from Boots, on their winter sale, after Christmas. Most of them I haven't used and they will probably go as gifts. I just couldn't help myself, especially at the perfume sections, where they were sold with less than £10 in the last days of the sale. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah! It is SO hard to control, isn't it?
DeleteI used to suffer from this, that's why I have made it a mission to own less and not buy things unless absolutely needed. I've had to find excitement from other places as a result. Food mostly, hehe! I actually might have thrown or donated too many things, which I now kinda regret. But it's good you're making a use of previously unused things!
ReplyDeleteI have stopped buying. Most of these are either presents or free products Hope to clear this all.
